Spotted Duck Creamery in NY's Finger Lakes District: Gourmet Goodness

PEN YANN, NY As a duck momma myself, I was happy to visit the farm and try out frozen custard featuring duck eggs. I've been extolling the virtues of duck eggs for the past six years I've been raising heritage breed ducks. I've given away lots of excess eggs because I never thought of making ice cream with them! Now I know. A family enterprise, the farm stand is open through Thanksgiving then pauses for upkeep and recipe experimentation. The flavors are anything but bland, and in addition to the classics there are lavender blueberry, elderberry port wine, chai tea and more. If you can't choose just one, the tasting flights are a great way to try many. It's so rich that a little goes a long way!
